 ABOUT TUCSON:

Dubbed the Old Pueblo, Tucson has become a fast-growing city known as much for its metropolitan sophistication as for its unique blend of cultures. Close proximity to the Mexican border is evident in the architecture, distinctive cuisine, lively fiestas and annual festivals. Tucson’s mild, dry climate — blessed with year-round sun — makes it a popular winter resort. Vast deserts, green canyons and majestic mountain ranges form an impressive backdrop. Visitors can take in attractions such asThe Titan Missile Museum, Biosphere 2, Reid Park Zoo, Kitt Peak Observatory, and several national parks. Tucson is also home to the University of Arizona and Davis-Monthan Air Force Base. Economically, the city is driven by electronics and missile production, and recognized as the premier health services center of the Southwest and the astronomy center of the world.

Tucson enjoys more sunshine than any other city in the United States, about 350 days each year. The days, with very few exceptions are warm and sunny. The mild temperatures during spring, fall, and winter are legendary. Temperatures rise in the summer, but low humidity helps even the warmest days feel comfortable. Tucson's surprisingly lush environment is replenished by two rainy seasons.

 Arizona Desert Museum:
Get up close and personal with some of the Southwest's most notable residents. The Desert Museum covers everything from flora to the Mexican Grey Wolf.

 Old Tucson Studios:
Has been the film location for many well-known westerns since 1939. More than 250 features have been filmed here including the movie "Young Guns II" and the hit television series "Gunsmoke" and "Little House on the Prairie."

 Biosphere 2:
Is a three-acre glass enclosed "earth." This "little earth" was built to resemble Biosphere 1, our original Earth. Complete with a tropical rainforest, savanna, desert, farmland, marsh, ocean and human-habitat ecosystems, a tour is probably the best way to gain full understanding (well, almost full understanding) of this cutting edge experiment.

 Colossal Cave Mountain Park:
Visit the interesting world of Colossal Caves, just 30 minutes north of Tucson!

Other attractions include: University of Arizona, Spring Training Major League Baseball, Arizona Diamondbacks, Tucson Botanical Gardens, Pima Air & Space Museum, Tucson Museum of Art, Dessert Museum, Tucson Children's Museum, International Wildlife Museum, Reid Park Zoo, Tohono Chul Park, Tucson Symphony Orchestra, Arizona Opera.
